What to put on your website so AI can describe you
Short answerState who you are, what you do, where, and when, in plain text near the top of your pages, then back it up with an FAQ and the same details on a contact page. If a fact only exists in an image, a PDF or a pop-up, AI may never see it.
The checklist
- One clear sentence on the home page: "[Business] is a [type] in [town] serving [area]."
- Opening hours, address, phone and email in text, not only in an image or map embed.
- One page per main service, with a plain description and, if you can, a starting price.
- An FAQ answering what customers actually ask, written as questions and short answers.
- A real About page: who you are, how long you've traded, any accreditation.
- Prices and menus as text, not only as a PDF or photo. See why AI can't read your menu.
- Fast, mobile-friendly pages. Google lists page experience as part of quality.
- The same name, address and phone as your listings.
What you don't need
Google says you don't need special AI files or markup. Helpful, unique, easy-to-read content is what counts.
Questions people ask
Should I write for AI or for people?
