Which business listings does AI use?
Short answerNo AI company publishes a complete list. The evidence points to Google Business Profile, Bing Places and Apple Business Connect as the base, backed by your website and review sites. Set up and complete those first, with identical details everywhere.
| Listing | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Google Business Profile | Feeds Google Maps and local results. Google names it as a key input for local visibility. |
| Bing Places | Feeds Bing and Microsoft Copilot. ChatGPT search is reported to use Bing's index at times. |
| Apple Business Connect | Feeds Apple Maps and Siri. |
| Review and directory sites | Sites such as Yelp, Trustpilot and Tripadvisor, and trade directories, give AI extra evidence about you. |
| Facebook and other profiles | An analysis by Peec AI suggests Google's AI leans towards Facebook and Yelp, and Perplexity towards Reddit and LinkedIn. |
| Your own website | The place you control. It should match your listings exactly. |
